Stir-Fried Lo Mein with Beef and Broccoli
Jared and I made Chinese food for Christmas Eve dinner and it turned out pretty well. This dish was great, but needed a bit more beef. Jared gave it a 7 and I gave it a 7.5. The recipe came from serious eats.com.
- For the Beef:
- 1/2 pound flank or skirt steak, sliced thin for stir-frying
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Shaoxing wine
- 1/2 teaspoon light soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- For the Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoon light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 tablespoon water
- For the Noodles:
- Kosher salt
- 1 pound fresh lo mein noodles
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 pound broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
- 3 medium cloves garlic, finely minced (about 1 tablespoon)
