No-Bake Peaches and Cream Sensation Dessert

Image
I really love this recipe, and it's much easier than making peach pie. I really didn't change much besides adding some almond extract and cutting down the sugar a bit. It gets an 8.5-9 and came from melskitchencafe.com. 3   cups   ( 280   g )   graham cracker crumbs 2-3   tablespoons   granulated sugar ¾   cup   ( 170   g )   butter, melted Creamy Filling: 1 ½   cups   ( 171   g )   powdered sugar I only used 1 1/4 C. 8   ounces   ( 227   g )   cream cheese, softened to room temperature ½   teaspoon   vanilla extract 2   cups   cold heavy whipping cream (see note) 5-6   medium   fresh peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced thinly (see note) 3/4 tsp. almond extract  https://www.melskitchencafe.com/peaches-and-cream-sensation/

Easy No-Knead Sourdough Peasant Bread

Image
This was a surprisingly good bread, but it tasted more like a french bread than sourdough. I would still definitely make it again because it's so much faster than the usual 24-hour process sourdough bread takes, but will still make it the traditional way when I have the time. This gets an 8 and came from melskitchencafe.com. Also, you really do bake it in a pie plate, but I'm sure you could use a regular bread pan.  3 ½   cups   ( 497 g  )   all-purpose or bread flour 2   teaspoons   granulated sugar 2   teaspoons   instant yeast (see note) 1 ½   teaspoons   salt 1 ½   cups   ( 338 g  )   warm water 1   cup   ( 275 g  )   sourdough starter (fed or discard) https://www.melskitchencafe.com/easy-sourdough-peasant-bread/

Sourdough Banana Bread

Image
I was originally unsure about this, but since we add sour cream to banana bread, there's no reason why sourdough should be much different. I'm glad I tried it because I ended up really liking it, and it's a great way to avoid throwing out my weekly discard sourdough starter. It came from melskitchencafe.com.   ½   cups   ( 350   g )   mashed bananas (about 3 medium bananas) ½   cup   ( 140   g )   sourdough starter, fed or discard ½   cup   ( 100   g )  olive  oil  ½   cup   ( 106   g )   packed light brown sugar  I use 1TBS ½   cup   ( 106   g )   granulated sugar I leave this out entirely 2   large   ( 100   g out of shell )   eggs 1   teaspoon   vanilla extract 1 ¾   cups   ( 249   g )   all-purpose or whole wheat flour  1   teaspoon   baking soda 1   teaspoon   baking powder ¾ ...

Cowboy Cookies

Image
This was kind of a fun change on cowboy cookies. It came from melskitchencafe.com, and it was tasty.   Cowboy Cookies 1   cup   ( 227   g )   butter, softened (I use salted butter) 1   cup   ( 212   g )   granulated sugar I did 3/4 cup 1   cup   ( 212   g )   packed light brown sugar I did 3/4 cup 1   teaspoon   baking soda 1   teaspoon   baking powder 1   teaspoon   ground cinnamon ¾   teaspoon   salt 2   large   eggs (100 g out of shell) 1   teaspoon   vanilla extract 2 ¼   cups   ( 320   g )   all-purpose flour I would try and decrease this by 20 grams 2   cups   ( 200   g )   old-fashioned rolled oats (see note for quick oats) 1 ½   cups   ( 128   g )   sweetened coconut flakes I think this could go way down 2   cups   ( 340   g )   semisweet chocolate chips 1 to 1 ½   cu...
