Easy No-Knead Sourdough Peasant Bread

This was a surprisingly good bread, but it tasted more like a french bread than sourdough. I would still definitely make it again because it's so much faster than the usual 24-hour process sourdough bread takes, but will still make it the traditional way when I have the time. This gets an 8 and came from melskitchencafe.com. Also, you really do bake it in a pie plate, but I'm sure you could use a regular bread pan.

  • 3 ½ cups (497 g ) all-purpose or bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast (see note)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ cups (338 g ) warm water
  • 1 cup (275 g ) sourdough starter (fed or discard)
