Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

I got this recipe from ourbestbites.com, and it was the best so far. I give this an 8. I put my changes in bold below. Also, the first night I combined half ranch/ half fresh guacamole, and it was super fabulous.

*note that all spices/herbs listed below are dried. If substituting fresh, use the rules 1 part dry = 3 parts fresh.

1C mayo
2/3 C buttermilk
1/4 t white vinegar I left this out
1 t parsley I doubled this
1/8 t dill I increased this, I think I doubled it
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t onion powder
1 1/2 t dried chives I didn’t have this, so I increased the onion powder, but this would make it super good
1/8 t black pepper
1/4 t seasoned salt
1/8 t dry mustard I doubled this

Combine mayo and buttermilk

And whisk together until it’s lump-free. Add in vinegar and all spices.

Stir, stir, stir…

For best results, make ahead of time and store in the fridge so the dry herbs have time to let all their yummy flavors out.

  1. The better variation is doubled parsley, a scant 1/2 tsp. dill, generous 1/4 tsp. garlic, 1/2 tsp. onion, 1 1/2 t. chives, very generous scant 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt and dry mustard.
